RV shows are the fastest way to compare a dozen rigs in an afternoon. Floorplans you have only seen online, side by side, with the slides out and a tape measure in your hand — plus show-only pricing and every accessory supplier in one hall.
This page tracks the major RV shows across the United States. It updates itself as dates are confirmed, so it is worth bookmarking rather than screenshotting.

If you are near Elkhart, Indiana in September, be aware the RV Open House there is a dealer and industry event rather than a consumer show — worth knowing before you make the trip.
Getting the most out of a show
Go on the first or last day. Opening day gets you the full stock and unhurried dealers. The final afternoon gets you the best negotiating position, because nobody wants to tow a unit back to the lot.
Bring your tow vehicle's numbers, not your memory of them. The single most common way people get caught out is falling for a trailer their truck is not rated to pull. Before you go, write down four figures from your vehicle:
- GVWR — the most your loaded vehicle may weigh
- GCWR — the most your vehicle and trailer may weigh together
- Payload — from the yellow sticker in the driver's door jamb, and remember passengers and hitch weight come out of it
- Max tongue weight — what your hitch and receiver are rated for
Treat the brochure "dry weight" as fiction. UVW is the trailer as it left the factory: no water, no propane, no battery, often no options. A full fresh tank alone is over 8 lb per gallon. The number that matters is what the rig weighs loaded the way you will actually travel.
Aim for 10–15% tongue weight. Too little causes sway, too much overloads your rear axle and lightens your steering. Ask what the tongue weight is at the ball, loaded — not empty.
Photograph every spec sticker. Rigs blur together after the fourth one. A photo of the weight placard is worth more than any brochure.
Before you sign anything
You can run the numbers on the spot from your phone:
- Check whether your vehicle can tow it — enter both sets of specs and see GVWR, GCWR, payload and tongue weight together
- Weight calculator — where your weight actually sits against each limit
- Fuel cost estimator — what the rig will cost you per trip, not per month
A show is designed to sell you something today. Ten minutes with real numbers is the cheapest insurance there is.
