We ran into this one ourselves out on the road. You pass a camp worth remembering — a quiet free camp, a park you'd happily come back to — and there's nowhere sensible to put it. By the next town, the name's gone. So we're building the fix: one list for the places you want to go, the ones you've been, and the favourites you use over and over. Save a spot the moment you find it, add your own private notes and a rating, then pull it straight into a trip when you're ready to plan. It'll bring your saved campsites and your account favourites together in one place, and it'll be there on every plan.
Yesterday's offline release asked you to open each calculator once while you had signal so it saved to your device. You no longer need to. Open the app on a connection and we save the whole set in the background, so a calculator you have never opened still works in a black spot. If your phone has Data Saver switched on we skip that download and leave your data alone. Route planning, maps, place search and your saved trips still need a connection.
How offline access worksOut of range no longer means locked out. You now stay signed in for up to 30 days without a connection — previously an hour offline signed you out mid-trip. On Explorer and Pro the calculators run on your phone, so weight, towing, fridge, solar, gas, water and travel time all still work in a black spot. At the time, a calculator had to be opened once while you had signal before it saved to your device — that caveat was removed the next day, see the entry above. Route planning, maps, place search and your saved trips still need a connection.
How offline access worksOur Battery Buying Guide was contradicting itself — one table listed a 200Ah AGM at 30 kg, another at 60 kg. The low figures were roughly half what those batteries actually weigh. A 200Ah AGM is about 60 kg and a 200Ah lithium about 23 kg. If you used the old weight in a payload calculation, it's worth checking again.
Open the Battery GuideWe refreshed our Terms of Service and added a short clause explaining how the free plan works — it's offered at our discretion and may change over time. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law are unchanged, and paid plans aren't affected.
Read the TermsWe've simplified how you start a trip. Instead of choosing between two buttons up front, there's now one clear place to begin — pick where you're headed and the planner sorts out the rest.
We fine-tuned how the planner flags low bridges and overhead clearances, so the warnings you see are the ones that genuinely matter for your rig — with far fewer false alarms. Overnight stops are now labelled day by day, too.
You can now pick the route for each stretch of your trip — the fastest, the shortest, or the cheapest on fuel — with the estimated fuel cost shown for each option. Avoid-highways, avoid-tolls and avoid-ferries toggles let you fine-tune every leg.
